Applications

Biocera coating is beneficial for a wide variety of titanium and magnesium implants

Magnesium - ECO bioceramics for resorption control and antibacterial functionality:

Orthopedic Implants: screws, plates, and rods for bone fracture stabilization and healing. They provide the necessary mechanical support and gradually degrade, eliminating the need for a second surgery to remove the implant.

Cardiovascular Stents: Magnesium-based stents are used to keep blood vessels open. These stents support the vessel during healing and then degrade, reducing long-term complications associated with permanent stents.

Dental Implants: Magnesium alloys are also being explored for dental applications, such as membranes where they can support bone regeneration and eventually be absorbed by the body.

Tissue Engineering: Magnesium implants can serve as scaffolds for tissue engineering, promoting the growth of new tissues and gradually being replaced by the body’s own tissues

Titanium - ECO bioceramics for enhanced osseointegration and antibacterial:

Dental Implants: Titanium with white ECO coating integrates well with bone (osseointegration), providing a stable and durable foundation for artificial teeth.

Orthopedic Implants: joint replacements (such as hip and knee), bone plates, and screws.

Cardiovascular Devices:  stents, heart valves, and pacemaker cases due to its non-reactive nature and durability

Spinal Implants: rods and screws used in spinal surgeries to stabilize and support the spine.

Craniofacial and Maxillofacial Implants: in reconstructive surgeries for the skull and face, providing structural support and promoting bone growth, ECO coating is particularly desirable for 3D printed structures.
